SHIPPED FRESH & QUALITY GUARANTEED

Affordable generalist that tolerates high heats. May perform better than other mites when humidity is lower (between 40-60%).

Neoseiulus californicus, identified by their eight legs and a buff to tan colored pear-shaped body and measuring approximately 1mm. Males are notably smaller and darker compared to females. Well known for their effectiveness in preying upon two-spotted spider mites, Neoseiulus californicus is noted for their ability to endure high temperatures and humidity levels. They sustain themselves by feeding on pollen during periods of low pest populations. Females deposit oval-shaped, translucent eggs beneath leaves and in close proximity to pest concentrations. Within 2-4 days, these eggs hatch into larvae equipped with three pairs of legs, poised to consume spider mite eggs. Progressing through two nymphal stages, they gradually transition to targeting larger-sized spider mite nymphs until reaching adulthood. Adult predator mites, with a lifespan of approximately 20 days, voraciously consume significant quantities of spider mites across all life stages.

BOTTLE vs SACHET / PRO TIPS
PREDATORY MITES IN BOTTLES vs SLOW RELEASE SACHETS
BOTTLED MITES
Best choice for an active infestation.
Our adult predatory mites are a natural tool to help cure an active infestation of mites. These tiny predators feed on all life stages of unwanted pests in your garden and help to balance the ecosystem. Our beneficial insects work quickly to reduce light to moderate infestations. With heavier infestations, increase in quantity and frequency may be required.

SLOW RELEASE SACHETS
Don't fight pests, prevent them.
Avoiding garden pests is far easier than dealing with an outbreak of bad bugs - be proactive by preventing the problem. Our sachets are filled with a blend of predatory mites in a variety of life stages, providing a slow release of pest control into your garden. When it comes to having a healthy garden, preventative care is key. Introduce monthly as part of your IPM program.

PRO TIPS
  • For complete control of a spider mite infestation, use in conjunction with Stethorus punctillum, an effective predatory beetle with a large appetite that will also feed on aphids.

  • For complete control of a spider mite infestation, use in conjunction with Feltiella acarisuga, an effective predator of spider mites that can fly.

INTRODUCTION RATES
BOTTLED MITES
Best choice for an active infestation.
Light Infestation: 0.5-2 mites per square foot.
Heavy Infestation: 2-4 mites per square foot.
Introduce weekly or bi-weekly as needed.
Temperature Range: 50-104° F.
Humidity: 40-80%.

SLOW RELEASE SACHETS
Don't fight pests, prevent them.
Hang one sachet per 6 square foot, every 2-4 weeks. May increase to 1 per plant.

It's important to note that these introduction rates serve as general guidelines and can differ depending on the specific pest species, the plant being treated, and level of infestation. Proper monitoring of the infestation and the released beneficial insect population is crucial for determining the success of the biological control strategy.
APPLICATION
MITES IN BOTTLE INTRODUCTION
  1. Introduce in the morning, evening, or when grow lights are off.

  2. Locate plants with infestation and knock down any webbing, if applicable.

  3. Lightly mist leaves before introduction.

  4. Disperse mites onto infested area by sprinkling bottle contents directly onto plants, or pour bottle contents into hanging boxes to concentrate your predators without making a mess. Leave open container in place for 72 hours to allow any remaining mites to be introduced.

  5. Introduce predatory mites bi-weekly until infestation is under control.

    SLOW RELEASE SACHET INTRODUCTION
      1. Locate plants where you want to prevent infestation.

      2. Hang sachet on plant, out of direct sunlight.

      3. Introduce slow release sachets every 2-4 weeks to prevent infestation.

Sachets should not be allowed to dry up entirely, and direct sunlight should be avoided. Prolonged moisture and damp environments can cause sachets to degrade or encourage fungal growth.

      STORAGE
For best results, introduce immediately upon receipt. If storage is necessary, store at 45-55°F for no longer than 24 hours. Store out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze.
