GREEN LACEWINGS
Green Lacewings, also known as the Aphid Exterminator, are essential defenders against a wide range of garden pests. These delicate insects, measuring about ½ - ¾ inches, lay tiny eggs near pest populations, which hatch into larvae within days. The larvae, resembling alligators, actively hunt and feed on soft-bodied pests for 2-4 weeks before pupating and emerging as adults. Each female can lay up to 200 eggs, ensuring a continuous cycle of pest control. To optimize their effectiveness, consider the specific pests, level of infestation, life cycle timing, and environmental conditions of your garden when choosing between larvae, eggs, or adults for introduction.

EGGS:
Low-cost control for limited infestation.
Green lacewing eggs are oblong and laid on hair-like filaments that hang from the underside of leaves. This protects the eggs from predators and also prevents the hatchlings from consuming one another. At +70°F., eggs take 7-14 days to hatch.

PRAYING MANTIS
Carnivorous generalist predator that controls a variety of pest insects. Great for kids and bug enthusiasts. Hatching can take 4-6 weeks when egg cases are kept at 70°F.

NaturesGoodGuys offers Praying Mantis Egg Cases, which are perfect for Organic Gardens or Bug-Friendly environments. Praying Mantises serve as versatile allies in gardens, greenhouses, or as pets, voraciously consuming a wide range of insects. These skilled hunters, with their distinctive appearance, ambush prey under natural camouflage. Female mantises lay 50-200 eggs in protective cases during late summer or fall, which hatch after 4-6 weeks of consistent temperatures above 70°F. Young nymphs emerge, seeking prey as they grow into adults with fully formed wings, living several months to a year depending on conditions.

PRO TIPS
  • Keep your beneficial insects fed and attract native bugs to your garden or farm with our Good Bug Diet - A food supplement for your good bugs that contains fats, proteins, fiber, calcium, phosphorus, sodium, amino acids, vitamins, lactose, and sucrose.

  • Introduce beneficial insects to your houseplants and potted plants with our Beneficial Insect Netting! No need to worry about your ladybugs flying around your home or grow room.

  • Proper identification of the pest species is important. Monitoring the crop closely and introducing beneficial insects early will help in control pest populations.

  • Pesticides, even wetting agents, and spreader-stickers may adversely affect beneficial insects' survival. Broad spectrum and systemic insecticides are toxic.

  • ANTS & LACEWING EGGS
Ants will feed on lacewing eggs. If ants are present, be sure to control the infestation before releasing, or hatch eggs indoors in packaging before releasing.
