Scientific Name: Nepeta cataria

Grown in Williams, Oregon

Catnip (Catmint): A short-lived herbaceous perennial native to Europe. It features soft, downy, light green foliage and dense racemes of pale white-green flowers, and it’s famously irresistible to cats. Grows up to 5 feet tall. Thrives in full sun with dry, well-draining soil. To remove catnip, over-watering will quickly do the trick, or bruise the leaves to attract neighborhood cats. Most people enjoy its benefits just as much as the felines do. Space plants about 2 feet apart for optimal growth.
